Privacy Policy — Kingsfield PII Shield
Summary. The Kingsfield PII Shield extension processes the content of drafts you submit to kingsfield.ai entirely within your browser to replace client identifiers with opaque tokens. It transmits no data off your device, makes no network requests of its own, and collects no usage data. It runs only on kingsfield.ai.
1.What the extension does
When you submit a draft to the Kingsfield portal, the extension reads the outbound request in your browser and replaces client identifiers with opaque tokens before the request leaves your device. Names you have added to your local roster are tokenized by name; structured identifiers such as Social Security numbers, email addresses, and phone numbers are tokenized by pattern. Tokenization is one-way: it happens on outbound requests only, and the temporary token assignments used for a draft are discarded after that draft is sent. All of this happens in the browser.
2.What is stored, and where
The extension stores only your configuration — your client-and-matter roster (the names to recognize) and a local account identifier — in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your own device. No map between tokens and their real values is stored: tokens are assigned in memory while a draft is being sent and discarded afterward. The configuration that is stored is never synced to any account and is never transmitted to WalkerNash Development LLC or to any third party.
3.What we collect
Nothing. The extension does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on our servers or anywhere off your device. It performs no analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking, and it makes no network requests of its own. It only modifies requests your browser already sends to kingsfield.ai, and it modifies them to remove personal information.
4.What we do not do
- We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties.
- We do not use or transfer your data for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose.
- We do not use or transfer your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
- We use no third-party trackers.
5.Permissions and why they are needed
- storage — to keep your configuration (your roster and a local account identifier) in your browser so the extension knows which names to recognize. No token map is stored. This data never leaves your device.
- Access to kingsfield.ai — the extension must read and rewrite the request bodies your browser sends to the Kingsfield portal so it can strip personal information before those requests leave the browser. The extension is scoped to kingsfield.ai only and does not run on any other site.
6.Data retention and deletion
Because all data the extension handles lives only in your browser, you control it entirely. You can remove it at any time by clearing the extension's storage or by uninstalling the extension. Uninstalling removes your stored configuration (your roster and local account identifier).
7.Children's privacy
The extension is a professional tool for licensed attorneys and is not directed to children. It collects no data from anyone.
